 Green Gravy is a dinner special. When we are trying to lose weight there is always one thought ie, what to eat? which will not put on weight and also taste delicious. Green gravy is one of the dish, as it contains a lot of green vegetables which are healthy and nutritious, also we are making this gravy completely oil free.

Green Gravy is a leaf based vegetable of spinach, mint leaves, coriander leaves and green chillis.

Benefits:
  • Mint leaves used is a great ingredient for palate cleanser and it helps in digestion.
  • Mint leaves can help you in weight loss as mint leaves absorb nutrients from food and consume fats into useful energy. Hence adding mint to your diet, fats are getting consumed rather being stored and stimulating weight gain.
  • Spinach helps in strengthening of muscles and increase your metabolism.
  • Coriander has great amount of Vitamins A, C, I, K.
  • Coriander has vitamin A which helps in reducing bad cholesterol in the body, it is great source of reducing cholesterol level in the body.

Hariyali/Green Gravy!!

Serves:4
Preparation Time:20 Mins
Cooking Time:15 Mins

INGREDIENTS:

To Grind:
  • 1 cup  chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 cup chopped Spinach Leaves
  • 1/2 cup  chopped Mint Leaves
  • 2-3 tbsp Peanuts
  • 2-3  roughly chopped Green Chilis( not very hot)
  • 1 Small Piece Ginger roughly chopped
  • 1-2 tsp Garam Masala/Hot spices powder( available in any Indian store)
  • 1-2 tsp Chat Masala
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 1-2 tsp Garlic Paste
  • 1-2 tsp Jeera/Cumin Powder
  • 1-2 tsp Rock Salt powder/Sanchal
Grind the above Ingredients in the mixture.

After Grinding this will become into a smooth paste.

Others:(churn)
  • 1 cup  fat-free Milk
  • 2 tsp Corn Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Milk Powder
METHOD:
  1. Take a bowl mix Milk, Corn flour, Milk powder, stir it properly, no lumps should remain.
  2. Heat the  Frying Pan, put the grinded gravy in the pan and cook for 4-5 mins, add the above-churned mixture in gravy and stir well. If you wish to temper, then add 1 tbsp oil in a pan, heat the oil, add asafoetida and green gravy.
  3. You can add any vegetables in gravy, can also add Paneer, Tofu.
Note: I have added boiled vegetables, 1 cup sweet corn, 5-6French beans, 2 carrots(both cut into medium size long pieces) in the gravy.
you can add any choice of vegetables you like.

Note: Tempering is optional, If you want completely Oil Free, then Do not temper, cook the gravy in a non-stick pan.

SERVE HOT!!

Can be Served with: brown rice/Indian bread ie roti ya parathas
