Methi Theplas- Made from Fenugreek leaves

Now, this is Completely Different Recipe from the recipes posted earlier.

Methi Thepla is one of very popular Gujarati dish, ask any of your Gujarati friends and they will tell you that this dish is their favorite and they make Theplas quite often for any of their meals. You can make theplas and keep in air tight container, you can these theplas for atlest 1-2 days. Just heat the Theplas on a pan or microwave it for a min, and you can eat this at anytime of the day.

Methi Thepla is Gujarati flatbread made from Fenugreek leaves, wheat flour and some spices along with it. This is very tasty and healthy meal or snack.

This is best for those who are on the weight-loss program as methi theplas a re very healthy and tasty and it is filling your belly.

A Quick Tip: Buy fresh fenugreek leaves from the market and pluck the leaves and store them in air tight container and store in your fridge.

Fenugreek Leaves/Methi Parathas
Serves: 6-7 Theplas.
Preparation Time:20 Mins
Cooking Time: 20 Mins for 6-7 Theplas

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Green Chilli Paste( check vegetable pancake recipe for same if you don't know how to prepare)
  • Few drops of Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 spoon Sugar
  • 1 Cup finely chopped Fenugreek Leaves
  • Few coriander Leaves Chopped
  • 1 tsp oil
  • Salt to Taste


METHOD:

  1. Take a big Bowl, mix all the ingredients, add little water and prepare the smooth dough.
  2. The Dough should look like as shown in (Pic2).
  3. Now make small balls out of it, and roll in round shape with the help of rolling pin.
  4. Then Take a non-stick pan and put the rolled theplas on it on medium flame and cook it till turns little brown, then flip on other side and cook in a same way.
  5. Keep flipping till it turns little brown and it is completely cooked as Shown in (Image 1). 
  6. If Required add few drops of oil on parathas while flipping, if you feel it is sticking on pan.
  7. If you Do NOT KNOW HOW TO ROLL THEN, Simply make small balls and put the balls in ROTI MAKER and press it. Your theplas will be ready.
SERVE HOT

Can be Served with Plain curd/pickle/tomato sauce or any vegetable curry of your choice.
