Tomato Soup is quite common soup to have, like when you go out for a dinner and if nothing strikes you, just order a tomato soup and you are done.

This is delicious, easy and beautiful soup. It is especially great during the winter season where you get fresh beautiful red tomatoes and carrots. This soup is a great way to use tomatoes and carrots to fill your tummies with something warm and tasty.

You just need tomato and carrots for this Tomato soup. It is delicious and rich in flavour, and you can just prepare this in an hour.

Tomato Soup Recipe

Serves:4 pax

Preparation Time:10 Mins
Cooking time:30-45 Mins

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 tbsp olive oil/clarified butter/ghee
  • 7-8 roughly chopped ripped tomatoes
  • 2-3 finely chopped carrots
  • 1 bay leaf(tejpata)
  • black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp wheat flour
  • salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In a pressure cooker add 2-3 cups of water, add roughly chopped tomato and also add finely chopped carrots. Allow 2-3 whistles in a pressure cooker. After that switch off the gas and let the pressure cooker cool for some time.
  2. After it is cooled down open the pressure cooker, add the pressure cooked ingredients in a mixture/ or churn with the hand-blender, make it into a smooth paste then strain into a bowl.
  3. Heat the pan, add  1.tbsp olive oil/ghee/clarified butter, add wheat flour, stir well. no lumps should remain. Add bay leaf, then add strained tomato soup, let it boil for 2-3 mins.  Add salt and black pepper powder as per the taste. Add 2 Tsp of sugar. 
  4. You can add Basil leaf on top to decorate your soup and make it interesting while serving. 
NOTE: Sugar is used mainly to cut the sourness of the tomato.
Serve Hot!!!

Can be served with: Brown Bread loaf pieces.
